Colibrí Therapy & Training (CTT) is a practice committed to providing inclusive, culturally-responsive, neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic services. Led by Dr. Gabriela López-Zerón, a bilingual immigrant therapist, we offer online services in Spanish and English, focusing on individual, couples, and family therapy alongside comprehensive psychological immigration evaluations.
Our approach is tailored to honor the complexities of each individual’s identities, backgrounds, and experiences. We strive to create a space where you can hold yourself gently while you explore and grow in a supportive environment.
The hummingbird, or colibrí in Spanish symbolizes our practice’s ethos. Our logo draws inspiration from the Honduran Emerald, a resilient and vibrant bird native to Central America and endangered in its natural habitat. This diminutive yet robust bird thrives across diverse environments, embodying incredible strengths, agility, and tenacity.
Hummingbirds can maneuver with astonishing precision—hovering, flying backward, and even upside down, reflecting their adaptability and grace. With iridescent feathers that change hue and catch the light, they inspire awe and symbolize joy, love, and the transcendent beauty of nature. Not surprisingly, the hummingbird has many symbolic meanings. According to the Mayans, are seen as messengers and bringers of love, joy, and healing—qualities that align closely with our therapeutic approach.
At Colibrí Therapy & Training, the hummingbird represents our inner strength and resilience. It inspires us to embrace life’s changes with creativity and determination, and to seek harmony amidst life’s challenges. It’s a reminder that we, too, can thrive in diverse settings and overcome obstacles with grace and courage.
