Frequently Asked Questions

At CTT, you can expect a warm and supportive environment tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. Our sessions are conducted securely online by Dr. Gabriela López-Zerón, who offers compassionate care in both English and Spanish. Whether you’re seeking therapy for personal challenges or require immigration evaluations for legal proceedings, we aim to make you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Our services are designed to be responsive to your individual circumstances, grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care principles, ensuring you receive the support you need to thrive.

Choosing to start therapy is a deeply personal decision and finding the right fit is crucial. Online therapy at CTT may be ideal if you:

  • Prefer the convenience and flexibility of receiving therapy in your preferred environment.
  • Value a culturally responsive and inclusive approach that respects your unique experiences and identities.
  • Are comfortable using technology for sessions and have reliable internet access and a suitable device.
  • Have a private space to ensure confidentiality during your sessions.

Please note, we do not offer ongoing crisis management, and in-person therapy may be more suitable in those cases. Feel free to discuss your specific needs with Dr. López-Zerón to determine if our online therapy services are the right fit for you.

To set up a more comfortable space for online therapy consider:

  • Choosing a comfortable location where you feel relaxed and focused
  • Minimize distractions by turning off notifications on your devices and closing unnecessary tabs or applications
  • Use headphones or earbuds to help maintain privacy and focus during the session.
  • Have a glass of water or another beverage nearby
  • Keep a notepad or journal handy to jot down any thoughts or reflections that come up during the session
  • Consider incorporating sensory items, like a cozy blanket or stress relief toy to enhance comfort and relaxation
  • Adjust the lightning in your space to create a calming atmosphere

CTT operates as a fee-for-service practice, which means sessions are either paid out-of-pocket or through out-of-network benefits. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your benefits for outpatient online psychotherapy. While we don’t directly handle insurance claims, we provide a detailed receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to notify us within this timeframe will result in a charge for the missed session. Please note, these charges cannot be billed to insurance.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate. This document outlines the expected costs of services at CTT, based on available information at the time of the estimate. It does not cover unforeseen expenses that may arise during treatment. Should unexpected costs occur, you are entitled to dispute the charges under federal law. For more information or to start a dispute resolution process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
